Whitewater Paddling
Presque Isle River
This hike combines the East and West River Trails for a scenic hike along the Presque Isle River, which runs through the Porcupine Mountains State Park. The river has strong currents and sections of rapids, as well as three main waterfalls, Nawadaha Falls, Manido Falls, and Manabezho Falls, which measures 25 feet high.
Your hike will include sections of boardwalk, forested trail, and a suspension bridge. Soon after leaving the parking lot, you will cross over the suspension bridge to follow East River Trail. After passing Nawadaha Falls, the third waterfall, you will reach another bridge that links you to West River Trail. Follow West River Trail back to the parking lot.

Starting up near Blackjack Class 1, just below Copper Peak 2- 3 with 4-5 as you get closer to Lake Superior at specific runnable levels
Montreal River Canyon

Montreal Canyon is Class 2-3. West Branch class 3-4 when running. Put in is at the bottom of Saxon Falls. There is a steep flight of stairs to the bottom of the canyon. You will see a bridge crossing over the river.
