Pesque-Isle-River–compressor

Presque Isle State Park & River

This hike combines the East and West River Trails for a scenic hike along the Presque Isle River, which runs through the Porcupine Mountains State Park. The river has strong currents and sections of rapids, as well as three main waterfalls, Nawadaha Falls, Manido Falls, and Manabezho Falls, which measures 25 feet high.

Your hike will include sections of boardwalk, forested trail, and a suspension bridge. Soon after leaving the parking lot, you will cross over the suspension bridge to follow East River Trail. After passing Nawadaha Falls, the third waterfall, you will reach another bridge that links you to West River Trail. Follow West River Trail back to the parking lot.

Presque Isle State Park is located in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park.  The Park is set apart as one of the major attractions of the Porkies and the entrance to the wilderness park.
