Cor Powersports Gogebic Community College Ironwood XC Snowmobile National Championship

This race is a three day event located on the Mt. Zion Ski Hill on the campus of Gogebic Community College in Ironwood, Michigan.  This is an exciting race for all ages to enjoy.

The Ski Area Management Program at Gogebic Community College is one of the nation’s most comprehensive training programs for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the snow sport industry. Technical and academic study is combined with a practical internship which is conducted at major resorts Coast to Coast. Students spend their freshman year and the first eight weeks of their sophomore year completing prerequisite courses. During this period, the Mt. Zion Recreation Complex is utilized as a training laboratory. Mt. Zion is our college-owned and operated winter sport complex located on campus which is open to the public.

Hosting races are just another training tool for these students, this event will also serve as funding for the Ski Area Management program as all proceeds from the concession sales will go directly to the budget for continuing this program. Many of the students enrolled in the Ski Area Management will be working in various aspects during the event.
