Are you ready to celebrate America like a true Yooper? Then you don’t want to miss the Bessemer Blast Fourth of July Celebration in Bessemer MI! This event is perfect for families who want to celebrate America in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
The celebration kicks off June 24th and finishes on the 4th of July with the biggest parade and firework celebrations in the U.P! Many of the events are family friendly and will get you in the celebratory mood, true Yooper style!
On Wednesday, June 28th you can attend a true, authentic Polka dance by Spotlight Polka, or take your family to the mud runs on July 1st; just be ready for noise, mud, and fun! Kids and adults alike will have a blast at the family games and children’s parade the morning of July 4th. This is the perfect opportunity for family friendly fun!
All of this excitement leads to the Parade and Fireworks which starts at 7pm on the main street in Besemer. Wondering how to find it? Don’t worry, you won’t miss the crowds of Yoopers decked out in their red, white, and blue attire! This is your opportunity to join in the experience of a true yooper celebration!
After the parade, stick around for the fireworks display. This is one of the largest and best displays in the Midwest and it’s sure to be a hit with your family. Make sure to arrive at Massie Field early for the Marty’s Goldenaires pre fireworks concert! This band will have you singing and dancing in no time. Yoopers are proud of their Goldenaires and you will have a blast listening and watching as they play many familiar songs with flair.
Celebrating America like a Yooper means wearing your favorite Kromer, and always being ready with bug spray and sunscreen. It means enjoying lots of good food, going to da Lake, and sharing in a picnic with family and friends. It means welcoming everyone to join in the celebratory spirit that Yooper’s represent.
